Overview:
Care Hospice is currently seeking a Accounting Analyst in our Charlottesville Support Center! This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated, hard-working, and goal-focused individual to work on a great team, in a growing organization.
The Accounting Analyst applies principles of accounting to analyze financial information, trends, and prepare journal entries and reconciliations for various areas as part of the monthly close process.
Accounting Analyst will also coordinate with operational personnel to ensure locational level P&Ls are accurate and meaningful for decision-makers and raise complex issues to the Accounting Director for resolution.

Responsibilities:
Prepares and posts monthly closing entries and accruals.
Reconciles assigned balance sheet accounts and explains variances month over month.
Analyzes P&L trends and explains variances month over month.
Continually improves routine processes to drive efficiency and enhance accuracy.
Performs ad hoc reporting, analysis, and regulatory filings.
Provides support for financial audits.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting required; CPA preferred
A minimum of 2 years accounting experience (preferably with multi-location)
Strong understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
Experience working with an enterprise reporting planning tool (ERP), Sage experience a plus
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
Intermediate to advanced Excel skills required
