UVA Library is seeking a Senior Fiscal Technician to join the Library Finance team as a Library Finance Liaison.
Finance Liaisons work closely with Library department leadership and cost center managers to efficiently manage financial resources and ensure compliance.
As the primary fiscal contact for all employees of the department(s) supported, the Finance Liaison develops productive relationships with Library colleagues and university contacts.
Each member of the Library Finance Liaison team also has a specific specialty in key areas of importance to the entire library, such as collections invoicing, travel expense, and purchasing.
Responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to the financial reconciliation of accounts, purchasing, reimbursements, and invoice processing for assigned areas, managing a Travel & Expense card, correcting accounting entries.

The successful candidate will enjoy being part of a small team of finance professionals while also having the opportunity to work with people in a wide variety of roles across the Library and University.
This person will need to be detail-oriented, have good communication skills, and a focus on helping the Library meet its goals while maintaining compliance.
The ability to prioritize incoming work and utilize University resources independently will lead to the candidate’s success.
This is a remote work position with occasional need to come to grounds.
The candidate must possess a strong work ethic.
The University of Virginia uses Workday for financial processes, and experience with this tool is an advantage.
However, we are happy to train someone with a strong grasp of math and accounting concepts and a desire to learn how to process financial transactions in a large, enterprise-level system.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Advise and assist Library colleagues on financial matters as needed with promptness and accuracy.
Provide up-to-date guidance on university financial policies and procedures.
Prepare monthly account certifications for assigned areas of the Library .
Procure goods and services for assigned areas and initiate payments of supplierinvoices when appropriate.
Approve travel and expense reimbursements to ensure compliance with university policies and correct work tag usage.
Prepare corrective accounting adjustments and journal entries as needed.
Maintain all documentation and records to meet audit requirements.
In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned as needed.

Required Qualifications: High School Diploma and at least two years of experience.

Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree Workday experience a plus Proficient in Excel and Microsoft applications.

Experience working in a Library a plus.
