Title: Accounts Payable (AP) Specialist
Location: Hybrid (2 days on-site) - Charlottesville, VA
Hourly Rate: $23.
00 - $28.
00/hour
Job Type: Contract with the potential for Contract to Hire
A minimum of 3 years of full-cycle AP experience is required!
Primary Responsibilities:
Charge expenses to accounts and cost centers and control petty cash spending
Verify vendor accounts, pay vendors and resolve purchase order, invoice or payment discrepancies
Issue purchase order amendments and stop payments
Monitor payroll expense claims, including salary advances and overtime payments
Reconcile account transactions with the general ledger
Perform recordkeeping and prepare financial reports
Keep informed of regulatory requirements and best practices in accounting
Qualifications:
High School Diploma
Minimum 3 years full-cycle Accounts Payable experience
Workday financial system experience (a plus, but not required)
Salesforce experience (a plus, but not required)
Higher Education Accounts Payable experience (a plus, but not required)
Experience in high-volume, fast-paced working environments
Intermediate knowledge in and experience with Purchase Orders (2-way & 3-way matching)
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Quick learner with proven high critical thinking skills
Detail oriented
Excellent customer service skills
Flexible and amenable to adjusting as needed in an ever-changing environment
