The Department of Anesthesiology at the University of Virginia (UVA) School of Medicine seeks applications for a Medical Office Assistant to provide administrative support to departmental faculty, trainees, and CRNAs in the clinical environment.
The incumbent is responsible for providing a high level of efficient, professional, and accurate administrative services in the clinical environment near the ORs.
The ideal candidate will work a 7:00am – 3:30pm shift with the availability to flex hours within reason.
Some weekend hours and or events may also need administrative assistance.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, preparing materials, scheduling meetings, telephone reception and triage, data entry (Excel) and assisting with creating PowerPoint presentations, library & Pub Med searches, and downloading and sending media documents.
This position also assists other staff in the department during absences, increased volume of work, etc.
The Medical Education Assistant will report to the Director of Operations.

Qualified candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent along with a minimum of two years of experience in an administrative role.
A bachelor's degree may substitute for experience.
The ideal candidate will have excellent oral and written communication skills; be proficient in MS Office (including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint); outstanding customer service and interpersonal skills; the ability to work accurately with attention to detail; and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
Occasionally, this office staff is asked to help move bulk items and organize set up for events.
This position is located in Charlottesville, VA.
The anticipated start date is December 1, 2023.
This position is a restricted position and is dependent upon project need, availability of funding and performance.
Anticipated Hiring Range: $20 - $21/hour commensurate with education and experience.
This is a Non-Exempt level, benefited position.
