Reports to: Youth Programs Director
Summary/objective
Lead, mentor, and supervise elementary to middle school campers.
Must be able to commit to the summer camp season (June 10th - August 20th).
Essential functions

Assists Summer Camp Counselor with group of assigned children
Supervise and interact with children in a style to promote educationally and developmentally-stimulating programs and activities
Communicate with children using a style that builds relationships and promotes teamwork
Promote the safety and security of all children at all times
Ensure group rotations happen smoothly and effectively
Maintain visual presence during work shifts and be responsible for assigned areas
Communicate program policies and expectations to students and/or parents to ensure a high level of safety and service at all times
Maintain supervision appropriate to student-to-counselor ratios and always be within sight and sound of campers
Assist with group/classroom management
Assist with creating and planning daily activities and actively participate in all planned activities
Ensure assigned classroom or area is properly cleared and cleaned up at the end of the program per state licensing standards
Deliver outstanding service to our members, guests and fellow team members with friendliness, direct eye contact, and a pleasant demeanor
Follow state licensing standards (as required)
Requirements:
Physical demands
Must be able to stand, move, walk, and bend for the duration of a shift
Must be able to physically respond in a quick manner in the event of an emergency
Must be able to fully participate in all indoor and outdoor activities
Must be able to work professionally and calmly in an environment which may have heightened noise and stress
Must be able to work in warm, humid, rainy or windy outdoor conditions
Must have ability and willingness to work varied shifts including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays
Required competencies, education, and experience
High School Diploma recommended
Must be able to commit to work the summer camp season (June 10th - August 20th)
Prior experience with youth programming and/or summer camp programs highly desired
Prior working experience and knowledge of state licensing standards highly desired
Must be at least 16 years old

Club cleanliness is an all-team responsibility; assist whenever necessary in any area of the club to keep club neat and clean
Secure appropriate shift coverage if requesting time off for work

Assist with Service Days
Willingness to assist with acac programs, special events, or activities outside your department
When supervisor or team members calls or emails, promptly return contact
Exhibit a positive attitude at all times
Deliver outstanding service to members and guests with friendliness, direct eye contact, a pleasant demeanor at all times
