The Department of Surgery at the University of Virginia (UVA) invites applications for a position in the Division of General Surgery, Section of Bariatric Surgery.
The incumbent will join an established, highly productive and growing clinical practice.
Clinical responsibilities will include the care of patients in advanced GI/MIS, bariatric and foregut surgery as well as participation in student, resident, and post-graduate teaching.
Clinical and laboratory research opportunities are available.
The selected candidate will further scholarly achievements with the goal of promotion within the School of Medicine and the University.
Rank and tenure status are dependent upon qualifications.
The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive ability to provide surgical evaluation and management of the general, GI and bariatric surgery patients at UVA.
Enthusiastic participation in student and resident training and education is essential.
Interested individuals must possess a strong interest in a career in academic medicine as demonstrated through past experience with research or teaching pursuits and a prepared proposal for an academic career path.

or equivalent, board certified or eligible in general surgery and have completed, or be currently completing, a fellowship in Advanced GI/MIS, Bariatric and Foregut Surgery
Licensure: licensed to practice medicine in the Commonwealth of Virginia
