The Department of Psychiatry and Neurobehavioral Sciences at the University of Virginia seeks applicants for an Assistant Professor (tenure-track), who is engaged in basic research with applications for psychiatric illness.
We are seeking to expand the basic science research in the department and the ideal candidate will build upon resources currently available in the department and/or through the Brain Institute .
Candidates must possess a Ph.
D in a basic sciences field by the start date of the appointment.
The candidate should have a K award or other NIH funding that it transferable to the University and be able to detail plans for future funding applications.
Expertise in animal models of psychiatric illness will allow the department to expand upon existing basic research in the department and to promote collaborations with clinical researchers seeking to develop animal models of specific aspects of psychiatric illness.
