We are seeking an Outbound Shipping Manager at our facility in Lyndhurst, VA.
The ideal candidate will take ownership of our shipping department.
This person will need to be a leader for our shipping team and be willing to train new and current employees.
This person must be detail oriented, organized, and willing to work and collaborate with other parts of our shipping and receiving team.
Job Role: As an Outbound Shipping Manager, you will be responsible for strategically planning and executing all outbound shipping operations, ensuring the timely and efficient delivery of materials and equipment to project sites.
This role involves managing documentation and compliance, implementing quality control measures, and continuously improving shipping processes.
Additionally, the manager supervises a team, resolves shipping-related issues, and collaborates with internal teams and clients to meet project requirements and exceed customer expectations.
Schedule: Full-time position Monday – Friday 07:00 am - 05:30 pm, with some Saturday shifts needed as well.
Key Duties:
Manage outbound shipments of tools, materials, and jobsite supplies
Verify and keep records of outgoing shipments via the company's ERP system
Oversee the day-to-day operations of outbound shipping, including scheduling, coordinating, and monitoring shipments to ensure timely delivery.
Develop and implement efficient shipping processes to streamline operations and minimize costs.
Lead and motivate a team of shipping personnel to achieve departmental goals and objectives.
Provide guidance, training, and support to ensure optimal performance and professional development.
Requirements:
3-5 years of high volume outbound experience
3-5 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing/outbound setting
Knowledge of basic measurements & how to read a tape measure
Construction/manufacturing experience preferred
Able to pass a motor vehicle check
Regular attendance and punctuality at assigned times is required
Good mechanical ability, reasoning and problem solving skills
Strong work ethic
Good communication skills both written & verbal
Requires working in a shop that can get very hot or very cold.
Must have the ability to wear all required safety PPE in these conditions.
This position is a safety sensitive position and will require pre-employment and regular drug testing
