The Department of Pediatrics seeks candidates for a full-time Laboratory Specialist position in the laboratory of Dr.
Agnes Swiatecka-Urban, M.
D.
This position will focus on building the biorepository for specimen from patients with kidney and kidney related conditions.
The candidate will also process the collected specimen using variety of techniques, be trained in extracellular vesicle (EV) tools in Dr.
Uta Erdbruegger lab, as well as interact and teach EV techniques to the members of EV Interest Group .
Lab Specialist Intermediate employees engage in laboratory research by performing complex lab and research related tasks.
They are distinguished from Lab Specialist employees by their additional responsibilities related to developing, designing, and conducting increasingly complex research projects.
They perform complex tasks independently.
They have the authority to adapt methods and procedures to meet the needs of research.
They may supervise support personnel and manage budgets.
Perform duties such as helping Principal Investigators coordinate research projects, performing experimental procedures, collecting information and data, and preparing tissues and specimens for procedures.
This position will remain open until filled .
This position is a restricted position and is dependent upon project need, availability of funding and performance.
Minimum Reequipments:
Bachelor's degree.
3 years of experience.
6 years of lab-related experience accepted in lieu of degree.
