The Department of Business Services at the University of Virginia (UVA) seeks applications for Clothing Floor Manager to join the University Bookstore.
The Bookstore is a self-supporting, non-profit organization that receives no local or state funding and is owned and operated by the University.
They are dedicated to supporting both academic programs and student life.
The main Bookstore location features textbooks for all UVA classes, over 30,000 different trade books, supplies and the best UVA clothing and gifts.
In addition, customers can order diploma frames, fine framed prints, and chairs.
The UVA Bookstore and Cavalier Computers are located across from Newcomb Hall on the fourth floor of the Central Grounds Parking Garage and are within easy walking distance of the Rotunda, Scott Stadium, and the UVA Medical Center.
In addition to the main Bookstore, there are four satellite stores.
TJ’s Locker is located inside the Aquatic Fitness Center directly across from the Scott Stadium.
Courts & Commerce is located inside the UVA Law School and serves law students, faculty, and staff.

The successful candidate will be expected to: Train and maintains a staff that provides exemplary customer service to ensure consistent customer satisfaction and acts responsibly and professionally in accordance with established policies.
Responsible for all aspects of Clothing Floor Management.
Greet and offer assistance to customers.
Recognize levels of stock on sales floor and replenish accordingly.
Continually fix and neaten sales floor area.
Respond to customer inquiries on the sales floor and over the telephone.
Keep stock room clean, safe, and well organized.
Building purchase orders, ordering products, approving invoices, resolving merchandise discrepancies, merchandising, and managing inventory.
Provide detailed information and/or requests to the Clothing Buyer about/for imprinted merchandise for Bookstore.
In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned.
Weekends are required.
Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent required At least four years of retail experience required Preferred Qualifications: College Degree Experience in retail management, preferably in a college bookstore.
1-2 years Retail Management or supervisory position, with a proven history of success.
1-2 years customer service experience.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Strong customer service skills.
Strong computer skills.
Strong leadership skills.
Ability to work independently with little supervision.
Ability to multitask.

Anticipated Hiring Range: $40,000-$45,000.
