FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.
Safety Ensure the working environment (i.
e.
condition and maintenance of the facility, manufacturing equipment condition, and forklift condition) are in full compliance with all OSHA regulations and company policy.
Establish and maintain a safety training program for all employees.
Create and maintain OSHA required training records, injury reports, and other documents including Material Safety Data Sheets.
Ensure all lock-out Tag-out procedures are strictly followed by all employees.
Coordinate with Human Resources to assist any injured employee appropriately during their recovery process.
2.
Supervise Employees Establish and maintain a job training program for all employees.
Hiring, firing of employees and recommending of changes in compensation to Vice President.
Ensure facility is staffed appropriately relative to sales projections.
Establish and maintain a culture of professionalism and responsibility within the workforce.
Ensure work is being performed safely and efficiently.
Ensure all policies detailed in the Employee Handbook and Operations Manual are understood and adhered to by all employees.
3.
Maintain/ Improve Facility Condition Ensure facility is maintained in a clean and orderly manner.
All items (i.
e.
tools, supplies, product, inventory, etc.
) and their locations are be clearly labeled and consistently returned to their appropriate location after use.
Wood dust should be regularly mitigated and should not be allowed to accumulate on equipment or building surfaces per OSHA regulation.
Ensure fire safety requirements such as proper egress allowances at exits and around electrical equipment is maintained at all times.
4.
Coordinate with Delivery Manager Ensure product is completed and ready for delivery on assigned dates.
Once a commitment has been made to a customer, every effort should be made to ensure that those commitments are upheld without fail.
5.
Productivity Ensure productivity data are gathered daily and recorded in the established log.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement through the elimination of waste within the process.
Unnecessary actions should be continuously eliminated as to improve throughput and lower manufacturing costs.
Coordinate each step of the manufacturing process to ensure optimal performance of the system as a whole.
6.
Coordinate with Maintenance Manager Ensure that all manufacturer designed safety guards or mechanisms are in working order at all times.
Ensure equipment is maintained in excellent working order.
Generally equipment should be clean, free of dirt and grease, paint should be unmarred, and all manufacturer installed labels in place and legible.
Oversee planned equipment shut downs at assigned intervals as specified by the Preventive Maintenance Program.
7.
Coordinate with sales staff to resolve customer issues From customer and salesforce feedback, identify manufacturing related issues and develop methods and processes to ensure the continuous improvement of product and service.
Coordinate with Delivery Manager and General Manager and assist sales team in resolving customer issues as quickly as possible while minimizing cost.
8.
Establish and maintain a Quality Assurance program Ensure that all quality inspections are complete and comply fully with the Truss Plate Institute (TPI) requirements.
An “A” rating should be consistently maintained.
If errors occur, meetings should be held with responsible parties to ensure employees are aware of the error and that they understand correct procedures/standards.

Inventory All inventory should be clearly labeled and stored in an orderly fashion.
Inventory should be handled and utilized in such a manner to have the ability to halt production at any time and perform a full inventory count without the need to restack or organize materials in any way.
Oversee monthly inventory counts to ensure all inventory procedures are followed and the count is accurate.

Other duties as required or assigned by management.
Requirements: EDUCATION: Minimum: H.
S.
Diploma Preferred: Some college or training in this area and supervision training.
EXPERIENCE: Three years experience in this trade preferred and three years experience in supervision.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: -Ability to do arithmetic, read orders, follow instructions, and complete forms.
-Ability to motivate employees.
-Motivated to increase sales, profit, earnings, etc.
-Ability to come up with new ideas and be creative.
-Ability to communicate with customers, other employees, and supervisors using verbal, written, or other skills.
-Willingness to take on new responsibilities.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: -Lift 50 pounds up to a height of 5 feet.
-Carry 50 pounds over a distance exceeding 12 feet.
-Bend, stoop, or squat to floor level on a repetitive basis.
-Reach over head to grasp materials.
-Stand for long periods of time (up to 4 hours).
-Sit for long periods of time (up to 4 hours).
ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL WORKING CONDITIONS: -Work inside in a controlled environment.
-Work with mechanical and electronic equipment on a daily basis.
-Work outside in temperatures ranging from extreme heat to extreme cold.
LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION: Valid operator's license.
