is seeking a Senior Accountant to work out of our corporate headquarters.
This role will include tax accounting, financial analysis and revenue accounting functions.
The successful candidate will have an ability to learn quickly and conduct regular ad hoc research projects, analyses and other special projects.
Innovative operates throughout the US, and this role will manage state tax reporting for each state.
The Senior Accountant will interact closely with the CEO, CFO and Controller.

is a premier custom design build contractor for industrial refrigeration systems, providing design, fabrication, construction, commissioning, and service in-house.
Key Duties:
Tax
Calculate, file and pay sales and use taxes in multiple states
Responsible for all tax correspondence and compliance (mail, customer questions, quoting for jobs, etc.
)
Understand and interpret tax laws in multiple states
Assist with Monthly and Quarterly tax reconciliation in over 30 states and county jurisdictions
Maintain compliance with evolving state and local tax rates throughout the year
Revenue Accounting
Manage service contracts and prepare service billings, including revenue journal entries
Analyze cost accounting reports for a variety of business units and identify points of failure to correct and address with leadership team
Financial Analysis
Prepare financial models for new projects
Compile financial reports for long term strategic planning by the executive team
Refine and improve current departmental processes
Conduct special projects for the CEO and CFO
Requirements:
Bachelor’s in Accounting/Business Administration (Master's degree preferred)
5+ years of general accounting experience
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license
Understanding of sales and use tax laws
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Self-motivated with a desire to succeed & drive organizational improvements
Must possess strong problem-solving skills
Comfort & knowledge with common accounting software programs
Preferences:
Prior experience in a construction or public accounting role
Leadership experience & ambition to move into a managerial role
