Summary:
Coordinates, aids in, and directs implementation of external and internal quality improvement programs to ensure quality production of products consistent with established standards.
Direct collaboration with the quality, operations and process engineering departments will be essential.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Quality “Point Person” for specific external and internal plant quality improvement initiatives as directed between Director of Quality, Site Manager and Site Quality Manager.
One of the primary resources for direct customer/field support when needed; travel to customer locations will periodically be required.
Recommend settlement of claims, for which company is responsible, within limits prescribed by management.
Drive the corrective action process with thorough, timely responses to our customers.
Drive quality improvement through the use of kpCI and Lean Tools (Process Behavior Charts, RCA).
Assist production regarding customer complaints with respect to quality, tolerances, specifications, and delivered condition of products.
Interpret quality assurance philosophy to key personnel in organization.
Perform quality engineering reviews of design documentation for compliance with stated requirements, including vendor quality manuals and company quality records.
Apply statistical process control (SPC) methods for analyzing data to evaluate the current process and process changes.
Work directly with vendors regarding quality of incoming and in-use materials.
Will also assist with new material qualifications.
Develop new approaches to solve problems identified during quality assurance activities.
Keep management team abreast of significant issues or developments identified during quality assurance activities and actions being taken to improve the situation.
Play an active role on quality management teams within the organization.
This includes information on process ability, yield, quality risks for new products.
Design and implement quality assurance training programs to key personnel in conjunction with managers.

Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor’s degree (B.
S.
) or equivalent from four-year college or university; or four to six years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
